CAIA Research / AI & the economy

AI and work
in the Caribbean

Every economy is made of people doing tasks. We are studying how those tasks could change, country by country.

Caribbean AI Association. First country study: Jamaica, October 2026.

THE FIRST STUDY

and occupations

03 / THE METHOD

Start with tasks.
Keep the evidence visible.

01

Measure the economy

Build a dated baseline of employment by industry and occupation, retaining missing and suppressed values.

02

Examine the work

Distinguish human-led tasks, augmentation, automation candidates and new work. Validate imported task examples locally.

03

Test possible futures

Vary adoption and adjustment assumptions. Report economic outcomes, sensitivity and limits together.
